Ok, Ive been wanting to talk about this with you for a long time, but its been hard for me because Im embarrassed to do something that sounds this much like bragging. (If you arent into spirituality this post might not be interesting to you) Ive been studying spirituality since puberty. Ive had the same Guru since 1991. ( Sri Sri Ravi Shankar) After 21 years, just a couple of years ago, I finally learned and experienced what he had been teaching me all along. I am enlightened. To paraphrase John Green from The Fault in Our Stars I gained enlightenment the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once. If feels so weird to say this. In the spiritual communities I came up in that word, enlightenment, is so loaded. Enlightenment. Its the big prize, its so wanted and coveted its treated like something unattainable. Its the thing that people want the most. Its the thing that people say is so hard to get, only after this and that and these meditations and this diet and oh so much hard work, and here I am saying Ive got it. Because I do.
