Ok Lesson Sharing on Spider Bites, Infection & Abscesses 1. An abscess is a heightened portion in the middle of an infection. 2. Antibiotics cannot heal an abscess. It must be lanced and drained. 3. The drainage(depending on how long you allow it to stay unresolved) can be quite nasty. 4. Causing dead muscle underlying or actually get into your blood stream and spread the infection to your entire body Procedure 1. Numb the abscess area. Minor prick and then Novocain numbs the entire area 2. The MD makes 2 small inception in the area an proceeds to expel the fluid. 3. Hopefully its primarily bloody but with prolonged delay will be yellow or black representing dead tissue Moral: do not take spider bites lightly. Most spider bites do not become infected. I was the lucky one. If you experience pain for 36 hours after beginning your antibiotics, GO TO ER!! You will save a limb and be discharged within 5 long exhaustive hours. Thank God Auburn won as I left from my chair forgetting that I am injured screaming in pain and excitement. But you, my friend, take a fully charged phone, an electric plug and post post post to FB and Ill empathize and cry the blues with you.
