Ok, Mrs. Bilby, Im going to tell one. I had a client who had three boys. When they first came to me they were five, six and eight. Now, these were BOYS. In every way a boy could be a boy, and they quickly went from being clients to being good friends of the family. We even vacationed together, it was a really great time. We were always on a shoestring budget and we took anything in that would shine up good, no matter how green. Charlie, the middle child was the avid rider, even though his older brother Jessie also rode and always won, but wasnt quite as into it, he just wanted to be there. So Charlie was riding this little guy, who while being stunning, was only four, sticky, green as grass, and had a grazing and in gate addiction that would make any trainer hit the bottle. (thats an entire other chapter) The pony was a little shit!!! .... So we had just moved the business to the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club, in Gates Mills. The ring sat on the North side of the property, then a huge groomed hunt field, this little landscaped creek then the Clubhouse buildings. Along the creek a gaggle of geese always grazed. Jesse was getting a lesson in the ring, and Charlie was cooling off from his in the hunt field. His Mom and I begin to realize hes herding the geese with his pony... on purpose! So its amusing at first... but then he and the pony REALLY start to push these geese all around the end of the field. So were yelling at him to knock it off... it was obvious it was going to eventually piss someone or something off. So all within about 8 seconds, we hear screaming at the top of his lungs, Charlie MOM, MAGGIE MOM MAGGIE, MOM, MAGGIE!!!!!!!!!! We turn around and see Charlie and Tracker running for their mortal lives, with three geese flying rough shot right on their tails. The one goose was pecking at the ponys butt, another was pecking at the back of Charlies helmet and Charlies riding like Willy Shoemaker for the finish, with his whip(weighted racing bat, for real... different chapter! LOL) behind his leg!! All we could do was laugh.. I think his Mom actually fell on the ground she was laughing so hard........ :D Charlie never herded geese again!
