Ok People, I owe those of you that commented on an earlier post of mine an Apology. It now appears that I was not in possession of the full facts of the matter because I was lied to on a rather large scale . It has now transpired that my work colleague has been doing this for some time as the Police have been called in. I have had to supply every bank payment slip I have used to pay into the charities I pay into, Luckily for me, I kept these bits of paper and they check out, But his story just dont add up cos the collection box he says he puts into instead of having about ( on his estimate ) £160.00 it had £5.40 mostly in pennies, since its last empty date which was on the 1st of September.. hence his suspension, And let me clear that suspension up, He told me he was suspended from work, Not so, He has been suspended from doing the fishing contract, So, like the barrack room lawyer I am I went into work all guns blazing then got shot down in a massive ball of flames and to be told I too was under investigation, But I was able to furnish proof, Also passengers on the Coach have verified my story that I do say that If you deem to throw me a tip I will donate to 1 of my 4 chosen charities with the money I donate out of my wages for that week. I have never said that I am collecting for charity. I quite categorically say that I Donate that money along with the money I already donate out of my wages However my Colleague, quite foolishly, Has stated that he is collecting for H4H. Unfortunately for him, on our last trip, we had a Charity organiser, who complained that we were collecting for charity without a licence who complained to the Fishing company who then complained to the coach company I work for. Fortunately for me, The company have always known that any tips I receive I donate to my 4 chosen charities, Cos sometimes , when the bill is paid, the Hirer throws in a tip as well and I have asked the secretary to pay the money into the account of the charity on my behalf, So I had further evidence to support my claim, Also the other reason is I dont get taxed on the tip if they pay it into my wages if it is paid direct from the company as a gratuity. It seems that because I say that I donate any tips I receive to my 4 chosen charities because they helped me when I was ill with cancer, He has taken it a stage further, But kept the money for himself, Also since working with this guy on this contract I have found that he never paid me the standing tip that the Hirer gives to the drivers each trip, Ok its only a tenner but he withheld that from me, I never knew we got a standing tip. I feel really angry with myself, cos this guy has taken me for a ride, conned me and used My military background to further his pocket, cos it has now come out that since I started there on a Sub Contractor basis and stated what I was going to do, He has used that to gain further income. So sorry for leading you up the garden path Perhaps the lesson learned here is that I keep my big mouth shut about my personal things and just do it.
