Ok. So I decided to watch the pilot of Starcrossed because Im all caught up on Hulu. God, its terribly written. The futuristic technology is both lame and unimaginative. Its like they tried to be subtle with it, then plastered it everywhere. Its nothing but a show full of racist hatred, which Im sure CW is trying to be edgy with. I dont like that they keep calling the Atrians an alien race as opposed to species. I think its a misuse of the word and will only perpetuate the idea of race (which is all it is; an idea or concept). Theyre humanoid, just with cool tattoos all over; strange organic shapes with no meaning. The big deragatory term for them is tatties which is wrong. That kind of implies tattoo shaming in society and I dont appreciate in the least. Not different enough for my tastes, but whatever. They needed to keep their cast pretty, I guess. Which, I wont deny, their male lead has a really nice set of peepers. Really, so far the Atrians are the only heart-renchingly attractive people; one of the male human leads looks like hes trying too hard to be Edward Cullen. #1 thing I dont like: they have made it obvious that the biggest biological difference is THEY HAVE TWO HEARTS. And their male lead has wild hair. Really, guys? A humanoid alien with two hearts and attractively messy hair? Did CW showrunners finally watch the new era of Doctor Who or something?
