Ok, So here is the deal. Im not Anti-Hunter, but I do have some rules that I believe must be followed if youre going to call it Hunting. #1 Eat what you kill. Im sad I even have to say it. #2 Hunting SHOULD require a minimum skill set. You are firing with a bullet that leaves the barrel at 3,000 ft per second (To put it another way it travels 1 mile in 1.75 seconds). You also have a high powered rifle, and the element of surprise. Putting feeders out and camping above them takes about as much skill as picking off fat kids in a cafeteria. Does that REALLY require skill when you have high powered optics on said rifle and are just aiming at a corn feeder? #3 Dont hunt endangered animals. WTF is the point? To prove your a man? Dont give me the conservationist BS either and the money going to protect the species. If you gave that much of a shit about the animal, youd have donated that huge load of cash for protecting it instead of paying to kill one. The only difference between you and the poachers is youre willing to pay people to pack your gear, drive you to where the lion is, provide protection for you while you take aim and shoot, take a photograph and get an animal head to mount. You arent even doing your own dirty work! This also violates rule #1 Hunting was a very real skill in our history, and to many people in lesser nations it still is a very real skill for actual survival. Its a test of manhood in many cultures, and youre pretty much shitting right on that tradition by breaking the above rules in my eyes. If you want to go out and shoot a deer and eat it, more power to you. If you want to go out take down another animal which is not endangered for the meat, especially with a bow, awesome. If you just want to kill something so you can have some decoration on your wall proving what a man you are.....you failed in my eyes. Feel free to counter these points.
