Ok. So hopefully everyone is able to follow this new format of this page. Here is my update for tonight. Ford had another episode today. This time his ET tube became clogged and once again they had to extubate and then intubate him again. He has such a hard time recovering when this happens and so its really hard on me. This also meant I could not hold him today. Hes been resting since this happened so I am thankful for that. In good news, he is up to 3 lbs 5 ounces! My little peanut is now my chunky monkey. He continues to do well on the conventional vent which is great. We thank God for that. Whit is stable and doing well. He is an ounce shy of reaching 3 lbs. Yesterday he had to get blood transfused so they had to hold his feeds for 24 hours. They started feeding again tonight. Dr Lozano (pulmonologist from childrens) came by yesterday and examined him. The conclusion is that the cyst is from the infection he had and at this point is not something that needs surgical intervention. He really thinks that as Whit grows new lung tissue, the cyst will resolve. He also does not think its an issue to wean from the jet to the regular ventilator. So that is good. They will do that as he is stable enough. Some of you have asked to see pictures of the boys. I said this in the beginning, I am not in any way ashamed of my sweet precious boys. They are the most beautiful and handsome babies in my eyes. But Im still not ready for the world to see them with wires and tubes and sensors and IVs all over their bodies. It is my one and only job to protect these precious bodies and I take that job very seriously. I promise when the time is right you all will see more pictures of these boys than you ever cared to see!! I cannot wait to show them off. Also, Ive been asked about their names. Raiford Montgomery- Raiford was my moms dad and Montgomery is my mother in laws maiden name. William Whitfield- William is Jons middle name and his dads name, Whitfield is my dads great great grandfathers middle name. So every grandparent was represented in their names. Thank you again for all of the prayers and messages and please feel free to tell your friends about this new page so that they can keep up. We praise God for all the good things happening in our lives and we ask Him to continue to heal these precious bodies.
