Ok. Tonight I stopped at the little Marathon truck stop in Westville Indiana. Older drivers will remember this as a party stop on the weekend. The truck stop isnt anything to write home about but the staff is friendly and it was clean inside. The restaurant that just reopened under new management two weeks ago is struggling as theyre having to live under the shadow made by the past proprietors. The lady that owns the business used to be an over the road driver so she understands how expensive it is for us out here. I think shes going to find a lot more drivers stopping by just to eat. My meal consisted of the following Meatloaf Mashed potatoes and gravy. Real potatoes! Corn Salad Dinner roll Diet Pepsi And for dessert I had a ton of choices. Carrot cake, four or five pies, Bavarian chocolate mousse, Creme Broullee and bread pudding. The Creme Broullee sounded good but I wanted to keep my mustache so I went with the bread pudding which is made with custard. The total for this meal was $10.38. Id say it was a bargain. So if youre running through here stop and see these nice folks.
