Ok, as for those who might be able to help with my car. The primary issue is that there are two broken hinges that are using in raising and lowering the hard top convertible on my car. These hinges are GM Part Number 15815587 (it is also contained in the link assembly, part number 25906914). They were made for a Pontiac G6 Hard Top Convertible. The same part number is good for all model years between 2006 and 2009 (where mine falls). The issue is that GM has discontinued the part and not a single dealer anywhere in the US has one (Trust me, I have called hundreds of them) and because the part is just 5 years old for my car and my model and make was made in such limited supply, no aftermarket company has or will ever make them. My only option at this point is to try and see if GM will remove the broken ones that are on the car and then to see if I can find some company that can fabricate me new ones. They are made of molded plastic. My second option is to continue to scour salvage yards nationwide until I find one. If you are friendly with any, please call them and ask for me. I am not a car person, (I just drive them), if anyone has any other ideas, I am totally open. Please share. I love my car and want to keep it for several years more. It is in perfect condition otherwise and no one else makes a convertible that is suitable for my height and size, so it pretty important that I can get this fixed sometime in the near future.
