Ok... as promised... part 2 to the Life & Death of a Star - TopicsExpress

Ok... as promised... part 2 to the Life & Death of a Star including our very own life given Sun... I already posted yesterday the Birth and Main Sequence Stage when a star uses hydrogen (the most abundant & the most lightest element in the Universe for fuel, called Nuclear Fusion, the fusing together of two atoms of an element to create one atom of a heavier element which in turn releases a tremendous amounts of energy as predicted by Einsteins famous equation E=mc^)... In essence, this period of a stars life is its infant, toddler, pre-teen and teenage years... our white Sun is a young teenager... (YES, our Sun is a pure white gaseous ball of mostly hydrogen mix with a little helium for most of its life... the Earths atmosphere distorts and reflects the Suns visible light given us the illusion that our Sun is yellow)... Now one must be made to understand that the most dominant force (main character if will) throughout the birth, life & death of a star is GRAVITY... the gravitational condensing of an astronomical amount of hydrogen atoms under the pull of gravity to create nuclear fusion given birth to the star... It is also this Fusion Reactor at the core of stars that keeps a tremendously massive gaseous body such as our Sun from collapsing onto itself from its own weight and the never ending tug from the most dominant force in existence GRAVITY...As the fusion core releases energy outward, the momentum of gravitational collapse is negated for the time being (this is what is referred to Thermal Convection)... ok... a little tired... I will type and post part 3 of this lesson later this evening... please make Note that everything I type comes from my very own memory banks... not once have I had to refer to a source for assistance... My hope is to inspire both young & old as I was inspired to develop a love for the Arts of Science... by Fernando Gonzales
