Ok, back story. My gf is working for a logistics company behind a very popular makeup brand Her working hours are 8am - 5.30pm. However she works from 8am - 9pm everyday, Monday - Friday. On Saturday, she worked from 9am - 5pm. Sunday off. Monday, which is today, she worked from 8am - 11pm. yes. 11pm I called her at 10pm and she said her manager dont let her go home. I was like huh? dont let u go home? its 11pm already leh! she told me her manager dont let her go home until she finished the shipment order. then she like want to cry like that. I quite dulan alr, ask her, u pass the phone to your manager This is how the convo went mgr : hi, XXXX needs to work late as we need to clear the shipment me : she has been working OT for 1 whole week. Mon - Friday till 9pm, and she came back on saturday to work till 5pm. Today she has been working till 11pm. mgr : yes, we have an agreement when she started the job that she needs to OT me: ok, so your agreement supercedes MOM regulations that a employee can only work 44 hours a week, and if they OT they can only OT 12 hours a day. You told her she needs to OT a little bit during month end. This is NOT a little bit me : her contract states 44 hours a week, this week she has work over 70 hours. where is the black and white agreement? mgr : mumble something me : let me tell you whats going to happen, my gf is going home right now, and she is going to continue her work tmr. mgr to my gf : if you have a problem then i think its better that u dont work here.. me : if you are trying to fire my gf, then you should know employee regulations state that you must give 1 warning letter and counsel the employee, where is the warning letteR? where is the black and white agreement me: does your HR know whats happening in your dept? if your entire dept needs to OT the entire week, and work daily till so late. the problem is not your staff. the problem is YOU. mgr : silence. me : anyway this entire convo has been recorded, my gf will be forwarding this to your GM, your HR and MOM. me : Dear, pack your things I come pick you now. Anyway, she hugged me say I saved her from her evil boss What you all think? I got wrong? SMLJ, logistics company i know sometimes must OT. But OT the entire week, and weekend and work till 11pm??? Ridiculous! Oh ya. My GF salary, degree holder, is only 2300, just a logistics clerk
