Ok, by now, most people know that Teresa will not be working at the Speedbowl anymore. There was an awful lot of backstory and behind the scenes conversations and lies that led to this. I fully support Teresa, and hope that the future holds a comeback for her at the Bowl. In the meantime, I have gained a crew member. She no longer has to worry about working in pain and overdoing herself physically and mentally. There have been some comments about how this is a Facebook problem, or how Facebook allows it to get worse. I couldnt disagree more. Facebook and e-mail, and text messaging is just the means of communication. You dont blame the route, you blame the negative person who is using that route. When we were kids, all we had were phones.(real phones, with cords...attached to the wall..... kids can google pics of them if you dont believe me) When drama came into our lives, we either went to the person directly, or we went to the phone to talk to friends. Sometimes we were lucky enough to have total phone and could have group party calls with 3 or more friends. The phone was our medium. In the current age of technology, we have so much more. It is instant. It has an advantage though. It is savable, printable, and doesnt have the disadvantage of being twisted when one person passes it on. It is there in all its unedited, black-and-white, glory. The problem that occurred could have been handled on the spot and immediately. Teresa was doing the job she does so well, and was slightly gruff with a person about an object that was making it difficult for her, in the tight confines of space and time, that she deals with regularly. Instead, someone decided to take to the internet and push a personal agenda. How Teresa could be considered by this person to be her worse enemy, or that the other employees almost all have problems with her, or that the owner, GM, and Race director were all trying to figure out a way to let Teresa go, (even prior to this event), is all beyond me, and beyond my comprehension. Teresa and I both have one very big, common request. We must all still support the Speedbowl. I know, sounds weird, doesnt it? here is how you have to look at it. We may not always agree with, or support the decisions of some people. What we do need to continue to do, is support the other people who have the same passion as us. We need to support the racers, their sponsors, the crews and families that give so much to do what they do. So, rather than telling people that they shouldnt frequent the establishment, we will tell people that they still need to show up and be fans of the sport..... for the racers and all those that support them.
