Ok day 3. Heres why I was so upset last night. So they come in at 10:30 to take blood again, nurse pokes her at least three tomes cant find a vein. Goes gets second nurse he tries three times finally draws blood. Comes back half hour later says time for a transfusion which will take several hours and require frequent monitoring. Han is not happy and I am incredulous that they are doing this now instead of earlier. So nurse starts sticking her with iv and poking and moving it around in her arm and shes crying and asking him to stop and he keeps saying Ive almost got it... when she cries out again I say, stop youre done hurting her if going without this isnt going to kill her you can wait and the day nurse can do it. So he quits and the other nurse goes into a classroom style lect ure on haemoglobins and why they are doing this. Then a third nurse comes and shes from the er. She says she can put in the iv. I say you have one shot at it and it better not hurt her. She puts it in like a pro no pain no fuss one shot. Big relief. Then up goes the blood and everyone leaves. I get up to go to bathroom and I come back and 60 yr old nurse #1 has decided that since Han is right handed the room is set ip all wrong so she is movjng furniture. Thus is a tiny single room, theres a hosp bed, one of those big boxy recliners, my cot from boy scout camp, two iv poles and the bed table. Its tight to say the least and shes rearranging furniture when Han is almost unconscious and Im seriously on the edge of killing her already. I cant stop her because shes already got everything pulled apart so I just stand back while she shoves things around. Shes muttering the entire time. Then alarms start going off again because hans stress is going up. She finally finishes redecorating, han can now not reach anything and the iv poles are between me and her so I have to reach around them to get to her and she cant get to alarms to shut them off easily (important because they literally go off every few mins) its close to 2:30 am by now so I tell nurse to please get out and leave us alone. I am not mean but I am firm. She leaves we pass out. Shes in and out but we manage to sleep fairly well til 6 when the new day starts all over again. Dr got a piece of me when he came in. He should never have said, I knew all day shed have to get blood but had to wait till numbers got there. He apologized for all the night drama and said he would leave orders to leave us alone to sleep this morning. Do far itd been quiet but alarms keep going off every few mins so heart rate issue still isnt solved. Not sure what theyll do next. Surgeon wont be in till this afternoon shes operating down at big barnes this morning. Hope she has a plan to get Han back on her feet by tomorrow. Well see. Thanks for all the love and concern she is finally coherent enough to stsrt registring things and ppl. Has almost no memory of last 2 days except pain.
