Ok done so Slow cooker ones - but no liver for now !!! ;0) Here goes! Slow Cooker Chilean pork and Beans Ingredients: 200g Kidney beans (23p 400g Aldi) = 12p 300 boned loin of pork (40p per 100g ASDA) = £1.20 1 onion (59p 1kg Aldi) = 5p 2 garlic cloves (39p 4 bulbs FF) = 2p 400g tinned tomatoes (31p Aldi) = 31p 1 tbsp tomato puree (store cupboard) 1 tsp each of Parsley/coriander and oregano(Store cupboard) 1 green chilli seeded and sliced (55p fresh packet Aldi) = 10p 400g sweet potatoes (750g 69p Aldi) = 27p 1 pepper (89p for 3 Aldi) = 30p 2 tbsp red wine vinegar (80p 350ml Asda) = 6p Grand total = £2.43 Method: Preheat the slow cooker. Put the beans in a saucepan and boil for 10 mins then put aside. Heat a little oil in a large flameproof casserole dish over a medium to high heat – add the pork and cook for around 10 mins until brown on both sides. Remove and set aside. Reduce the heat and add the garlic/onion and seasoning. Cover and cook gently for about 15 minutes until the onion is soft and brown. Return the pork to the dish and and stir in the tomatoes/puree and herbs and bring to the boil. Transfer everything to the slow cooker and add the beans vegetables and red wine vinegar together with 450ml water to cover. Cover and cook for 6-8 hours on low. Taste and add seasoning at the end of the cooking time
