Ok everyone Relay for Life team construction is underway! I signed up my team! The name is Jailbirds (story behind the name it can be changed at any time). The date of the South Marion Relay is Friday, May 8th at 6 p.m. It is goung to be held at Don Garlits museum of drag racing property. The theme for this year is racing for a cure. We had our official kickoff tonight. Heres what I need to have done in the following weeks: I need to have a co-captain in place because Im going to be on the committee as well so Im going to need someone at our tent to make sure things are run smoothly, second Im going to need a small team of people to brainstorm for we need our tent decorated because they award for the best campsite. I already decided on a fun game for us to have for the others to play...its Plinko but racing-themed. We also need to come up with a food to sell at our campsite-this is just a a little way we can make extra $$ for our team. Last year we did italian ice and actually had to go to the store twice to replenish!! We just need a couple big coolers and some dry ice. Now in order to receive a T-shirt youll need to personally raise $100. Once we form a team we need to have a brainstorming meeting to get everyone on the same page. We only have 120 days to get this done so it would be good to try and get a couple corporate sponsors. Once you get signed up on the team your friends and family members can go to the website and donate to our team! Im also gonna talk to my girl scout leader to see about having our troop there to help out. I know every year weve done it Gianna has been super excited to participate. My goal is to have at least 20 people on our team but a realistic number would be 10-15 so please spread the word and lets beat cancer one step at a time!!
