Ok everyone, so heres the update on Danielle Geremia I hoped I would not have to write. We received news at UCSF yesterday that Danielles tumor is in fact cancer. Most of it was removed via surgery, but there are still left overs which were considered unsafe to remove due to their connection to particular brain areas... Fortunately tho, it has not spread anywhere else and is contained in a specific spot of her brain. Originally the Dr. thought it was a low grade tumor meaning it was not aggressive and possibly not cancer. However, after lab results, theyve upgraded that to a high grade tumor, which is cancerous and is aggressive. So... We will fight it right back with aggressiveness! We will be starting Chemotherapy and Radiation sometime in the next 2 weeks, locally. The chemo (pill form at home) will be for a period of 6 months. The Radiation will be for a 6 week period, 5x a week. This process will no doubt be a difficult and long one, but our spirits remain high. She and I have had our moments together about the issue and we have shared some of those with our immediate family... Its tough. Its beyond tough. However, we have decided together we are going to fight every day! Our motto together is: One day at a time! Today, we will fight todays battle. Tomorrow, we will fight that one. We will not dwell on what the future holds, good or bad. It is about getting through today to reach tomorrow and eventually.... WE WILL WIN THE FIGHT! I love you Danielle, and I am by your side EVERY step of the way. Stay strong, Stay positive!
