Ok folks! It took me a minute to gather my thoughts! Anyway, I would like to share some of the events taking place at the upcoming Lee Sorrelhorse Memorial Potluck Dinner @ NAYA Youth & Family Center on March 29, 2014. I will be your host for the afternoon and am excited to stand again on behalf of my cousin Angie Sorrelhorse! In addition to the wonderful meal that each and every one of you will bring to grace the table and heighten our caloric intake James Smith & his drum will honor our brother in song, a Northern Cheyenne flag will be presented to Lees wife Angelina and will hang in the NAYA gymnasium in honor of him! As this event will be the last of three it is our sincerest hope to share the love and truly CELEBRATE his life! Anyone who has ever met Lee Sorrelhorse knows he encapsulates that raise heck humor like no other!!! Continually laughing, always cracking jokes, chuckling at someone or something, laughter and fun was a huge part of the beauty of his spirit! Native people in general utilize humor as a way of teaching & keeping a positive vibe! Native men especially, in my humble opinion, have perfected the art of chuckling at you while convincing you it was funny too! With that, I would like to announce that we will have a Lee Sorrelhorse comedy roast to share funny stories about him! Keep it PG-13! Haha! Also, to commemorate his love for pow wow and traveling the trail year after year we will hold the 1st Annual Lee Sorrelhorse Indian Round Steak cooking competition! Ladies & gentlemen prepare your favorite pow wow cuisine with the main ingredient being Indian Round Steak, a.k.a Bologna (for the Rez life impaired)! We will select three judges to sample each entry and have a honorarium for the winner! Bring your A game and revolutionize the pow wow cuisine experience! The main ingredient must be Indian round steak! Bring enough for three judges to sample but if you truly rep that REZNESS & SKINGENUITY then youll be sure to bring plenty for everyone to enjoy! Levi Blackwolf, if you could incorporate the cooking competition and comedy roast into the flyer thatd be great so we can circulate throughout the Portland area via email & FB! When I proposed the positive, humorous, tone for this event my loving cousin Angelina said if the tables were turned hed crack jokes at us! She is SO right! Lol!
