Ok folks. Only 2 MORE WEEKS!! Thats how long we have left of our fundraiser and we need your help. Were just short of making our goal of raising $5600. DEAR FRIEND....WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO TAKE RESONANCIAS TO THE NEXT LEVEL. In developing the production, we are required to “match” the funds given to us by our presenter. At present, we are only missing $1800 of the $5600 we originally set out to raise. We have been very lucky so far, but there is more work to be done. This is where you and other friends and supporters come in. The video you will see attached explains the project and also asks for your support. Donations can begin at $20. There is no required amount. It really is entirely in your hands to donate what you can. Sometimes many small amounts can make a very big difference. To help, all you need to do is click on the link that appears at the end of this email and follow the instructions. You will see a button that says “DONATE TO THIS PROJECT,” it will take you to the appropriate site. Donations can be made either online with a credit card, or with a check. We have come up with a series of “perks” for all those donating to this amazing project that include everything from signed postcards to free CD’s and tickets to the event. About “Resonancias”: “When we die, we remain present in stories and legends…in dreams…and in art.” “Resonancias” is inspired by memories that are passed down by family, stories that we hear as children, places we never visited, people we never met, stories we never lived. With time, those familial legends walk with us and are reflected in our daily lived, our gestures, our habits…and our art. In this project, it is our goal to express this experience in its totality, and for this reason, Jose will be using pre-recorded tracks and electronic manipulations that will accompany his live playing, as well as, dance and projected images and film. These various elements will allow us to create those layers of distortion and the auditory and visual landscapes that for Joses surround the music. The intention is to create not just a concert, but a complete immersion experience. We want you the audience to enter this space of ancestral essence where emotions and legends live. We premiered the work on May 8th and 9th at the Miami Dade County Auditorium at 8,30pm and are now gearing up for our presentation on July 19th and 20th at the South Dade Arts Center. An additional two dates will also take place in South Florida and it is our intention to tour the work in the coming year.
