Ok, for those of you who once again must face the ever nauseating - TopicsExpress

Ok, for those of you who once again must face the ever nauseating question that makes you want to take your forehead and smash it bloody against a brick wall, he is my most recent response to a friend prodding me with the but plants have feelings too... He said something to the effect that we only care about what we decide to care about, disregarding the lives and feelings of plants, and that basically, if we werent Fruitarians, than we are hypocrites... Here is my response: Jacob, since when are you a Fruitarian? This is news to me... If so, kudos... Now, regarding this argument..., FYI, I am in communion with plants every single day. I go into the mountains and engage in a walking meditation process and I am one with all - it is my daily bliss. And yes, plants feel intensely, just not the same way animals do. There is Divinity in all life and I revere and respect that sanctity. However, plants were designed to be stationary, they cant flee, for a reason. They dont feel because they dont have nerves, they dont protect their young, they dont need to be entertained or exercised. Their form of consciousness is not from a thought process or and individual identity perspective, more as an emanating presence, an energy field of balance and love. We are designed and meant to be nourished by plants. If my body, and discipline would allow, I would aspire to be a raw, Fruitarian. That way I wouldnt have to steal the light from any living being. But at the moment, I am at peace with eating plants and in the scheme of things, although I understand your argument, there are LIGHT YEARS between the insanity of enslaving torturing and murdering animals and the argument for what about plants. It is simply a rhetorical, nonsensical comparison frankly and if didnt like you so much I wouldnt have taken the time to school you, errr, I mean explain this to you... Please, Jacob, stop making these lame arguments, just because you can. Vegans have enough to deal with, and enough despair, trying to make the world wake up and stop this heinous cruelty, we certainly dont need to be heckled and prodded about something that is really just OBVIOUS. Come ON... Really Jacob...? Really...
