Ok.. friends who know me, know that I do not usually share many personal issues anymore but I just got to share this to give thanks do a dear friend who I will call my sister.. So yesterday I received the best gift that I have had for over thirty years... not counting of course my children. My childhood friend whom I have recently been reconnected with due to a tragic event in her life, has done a wonderful thing for me....You see, my mom passed away 43 years ago and I was moved to my grandparents house. My father wasnt in my life and I was forbidden to ask about him or talk about my mom after that day.. It was an event that has governed my entire life... My childhood ended that day. On my own at sixteen I left many belongings at home and over the years since the death of my grandparents i had all beliefs that those things were gone. The dysfunction of my family dynamic prevented any reconciliation with that particular side of my family. Attempts to retrieve these things were futile. I resigned to think all was gone. Well after several attempts by my friend to retrieve these things for me , I got word yesterday that she is meeting a family member with a package for me of the things I lost...I havent seen a picture of my mom in over thirty years and soon I will have them back....with this package are photos of my mom and my baby book, the book that I found my dads name in .. after many years I found my dad when I was thirty years old...the second greatest event in my life... Thank you my friend, my dear dear friend for taking the time to do this for me.... I love you.. Happy Thanksgiving!!
