Ok gardeners.....we have freeze warnings for Wednesday and Thursday nights. Time to prepare. Bring in your tender houseplants or be prepared to cover them. Even watering them the night before or leaving misters on will help. In the garden, arches of reinforcing wire, pvc framework or sticks will hold your row covers up off your plants. Be sure to remove the row covers before the sun is up high enough to raise the temperature under the fabric or plastic.....even opening both ends will help. They need ventilation as not to cook the plants. This will help extend the growing time of your fruits and vegetables. Here in Texas, we could have these two cold nights and then another month of temperatures in the 40s and 50s at night. Preserve your hard work by covering your plants during freeze or frost warnings.
