Ok guys.... Here is my rant of the day..... I have trouble accepting how people are re-acting to the petition against the hookah cafe..... I signed the petition and did so after much thought! I am not against the idea of a hookah lounge/cafe/bar and in all honesty I should be supportive and happy to see another attraction to downtown that draws potential customers my way.... That being said, I would also like to explain why I feel so strongly that it is problematic or nucainse like..... I have worked 3 years on my property and spent 10s of thousands to invest in a community that I saw potential In partly bc of other peoples investments(timeless cafe, market, sirros, studio 15, samler bar and samler building, edible arrangements, most recently deracos property) these efforts make and made this area something worth my time and money.... The bars down here that are being labeled as trouble and have to defend themselves bc of troubles out of their hands, should also be commended on their financial and intellectual efforts to provide and of course profit from the increased traffic and business downtown! Samler, lounge, penn, willow house and especially woofers have all spent thousands to maintain, secure, protect, staff, and ensure safety and responsibility downtown, not to mention the what they have to do to defend themselves bc of the actions of their customers!!! No-one can be responsible for what someone else does!!!! BUT, they pay 100k for a liscense! How come someone who pays 100 dollars for a liscense can move downtown, break every rule, and put everyone anywhere near it at risk, be stood up for?? This has nothing to do with race, culture, or me losing money or revenue bc he is open when I am or sells food( not a issue) I prolly could sell more bc of this place, BUT I have closed 4x EARLY BC I CARE ABOUT OUR COMMUNITYS SAFETY!!!!! A lot of my customers eat here and go there, I dont want to be open when someone gets shot or stabbed out front!!!!! He is not responsible for that, true! But from what Ive seen, hes not responsible for anything happening there..... Maybe thats why theres soo much shit happening!!! Idk? Either way I feel bad for all the people trying to care and do right thing that get punished and cant afford to loose their business, especially when the customers cant be picked or choosed!! Everyone is welcome at my establishment until 1 person acts up, then they ruin it for all...... Ironically EVERYONE SEEMS TO COMPLY AND ACT RIGHT INSIDE THE JOINT!!! So thank -you all....... I really appreciate the respect we get shown on a daily basis! I wish that this positive vibe was contagious.......
