Ok guys here we go. I have infront of me a 2001 cr125 rotor (left) & a 1999 cr250 rotor (right) note the timing marker on top of the rotor. Both rotors are lined up with key way at the top.. by looking at the left rotor it would tell the cdi to fire way before the right 1 would.. this is why I believe you could use 2000/01 cr125 electrics on on your 2000/01 cr250 if you use your cr250 rotor. All the cdi does is supply the spark to the plug, the rotor generates the power & the switch (top of rotor) when to fire. WE WILL SEE SOON..
