Ok guys so its a bit of a story sorry, but my Wife tripped over the vacuum cleaner cord, hit our wood stove and knocked it about a foot from where it was (Shes OK, just a couple of nasty bruises.) Anyhow, I decided to add yet another project to my list before snow flies, and install (Since I had to replace some of the stove pipe anyway) an antique pot bellied stove that we had stored in the garage. (More story... I moved it here 1000 miles from Deadwood SD think Wild Bill Hickock, and Calamity Jane sitting by it.) Anyhow, its CI, and I am going to want to make it as Airtight as possible. I may have to fabricate and install a latch to suck the door down tight (Installing a Rope gasket) for example. So here goes.... Has anyone drilled a hole in CI???? I know weird question, and not really cooking, but we intend to cook on this stove LOL I have an old BS and R, in really bad shape that I thought Id experiment on before drilling into the stove.... Im just afraid of cracking the thing and ruining it. I got the top half moved into the house yesterday.
