Ok guys we have three possible chances for snowflakes over the next 10 days. Our first chance for flakes comes this afternoon with some backside development possible as a low pressure moves across the gulf. This will bring the possibility of snow showers to the high mountains and a few flakes to the valleys. I dont see too much accumulation in the valleys with this event, but I wouldnt totally rule it out just yet. The mountains stand to receive an inch or so of snow. The second event will be a northwest flow type snow on Sunday night into Monday. This will bring another shot at snow especially for the high mountains. I am seeing decent moisture show up on the models so far so this could turn out to be a nice, brief, little storm. In the long range, the Euro ensemble has been hinting at the possibility for a large gulf low to make its way up the NC/SC coast with sufficient blocking in place. This would be a great look for WNC snow lovers but it is still way to far out to talk specifics or even if the cold air will be in place. Lets just say things look very favorable for development.
