Ok here is a take on all those Walmart haters because of unfair labour practices. What you say is correct, who you are saying it to is meaningless. Have you ever spoken to an employee at Walmart that took the job because the rest of the local economy has collapsed? Well, that happened because the 1% decided that increasing their wealth was more important than improving the lives of the 99%. Posting on facebook and promising black Friday boycotts is not going to accomplish anything! Personally I will continue to shop at Walmart because I want to support those members of our society that were forced to work there due to the 1%s greed and our (the 99%s apathy) that right folks we are part of the problem! We pace up and down and yell about unfair labour practice, but what do we do to empower those folks that work there? Do we offer our support for Walmart employees through a kickstarter campaign? It almost bought a certain tape of a certain politician simply because we wanted to know something we probably shouldnt have. When we step outside ourselves and realize where the real surplus is and what it is, then something will happen. When we give up our comforts for our brothers and sisters, the 1% will have no choice but to take notice, we wont be buying their products. It seems at this time of year we should make some small provision for the poor as it is recommended in a Christmas Carol. Its not money that Dickens was talking about, it was love. The money simply flowed because the focus was on the needs of others and not ourselves. Dont boycott Walmart. Just buy what you need. Dont buy the things that you only want and take that saved money and make a difference in someone elses life. Thats love. Thats what will change the world, thats what Christmas is all about. A freely given gift, no strings attached....
