Ok here is her official diagnosis from her neurologist as of today. Medically refractory generalized epilepsy. Her seizure history and associated developmental disabilities are consistent with Lennox Gastaut Syndrome. She has residual generalized convulsive seizures that can occur in clusters. He continues to say I believe her Epilepsy and cognitive disability are due to remote brain injury. (intrauterine or very early childhood) Her 2011 MRI of the brain shows scarring and cerebral volume loss that are consistent with this. Extensive testing for other genetic and metabolic problems (including Rett syndrome and Angelman syndrome) were both negative. Her intellectual disability with Autism is stable and she has been making huge strides in behavior and simple communication. Her past psychosocial stress undoubtedly has added to her behavior difficulties...
