Ok, heres a big issue for me right now...like a major issue: ever since I moved back here and started my career as a designer, I have seriously sloped off in the music writing/making arena. I wrote 5-6 songs with a band called The Midwest the first year I was back, but since then I have maybe written one, but dont even play the guitar anymore, or use my DAW in any productive way. I work all day in front of a computer, and when I get home I want to learn new things regarding...what? Do I spend my downtime trying to diversify and improve my skill set for graphic design? Or do I use it to learn/get back in the habit of making tunes? The rub: both involve sitting in front of a computer (except for actually playing the guitar)...and I dont really want to do either at the end of the day, so I end up half assing both of them...or just watching TV or walking around my backyard yelling at the skies. I honestly dont think I like graphic design. I think its my job. SO, my hobby should be music...but the thought paralysis has prevailed for the last 4-5 years.
