Quote for today, 6/23/14, from my lefty calendar: Youve Come a Long Way, Lefty In 1934, Missourian Ben Richter decided to establish a national organization encompassing all lefty golfers throughout the United States. This became a reality with the First National Left-Handed Championship Tournament at the Norwood Hills Country Club, St. Louis, Missouri, in September of 1936. There were over 5,000 invitations sent to lefties around the country and 147 attended. Today, along with the regional tournaments, there are 3 national ones: The National Championship which is for lefties only, The Lefty-Righty in Lenoir, North Carolina, and The Lefty-Partner which is held in Florida.
