Ok lets say it holds true to say some people in Ghana have - TopicsExpress

Ok lets say it holds true to say some people in Ghana have inferiority complex because of the tribes they were born into. Must this not be a major concern to those who seek our mandate to lead this country? It is not without basis that people from minority ethnic groups in Ghana have complex. It has been forced down on them by the very people who are mocking them today. Not everyone is enlightened enough to ignore comments that potentially make people inferior to others. Isnt it common to hear people elevate one particular tribe above others on a daily basis or mortify people from certain tribes? Havent we heard calls to appoint people from some minority ethnic groups into government? Ethnocentrism still remains an issue in Ghana and this has been one of the main (if not the single), challenges to our unity and development as a country. No one is asking anybody to cut ties with his or her ancestral descent, but to sweep aside the concerns being raised by people and call them ethnic bigots is really hypocritical and somehow irresponsible. One would have thought that those who feature on discussions about the future of this country would know that the glorification or exaltation of one ethnic group is a threat to our unity as a country because the issue of complex is a real one. We contribute to it everyday with petty remarks and supposed jokes. Ghana first and we are who we claim we are because we are ghanaians. The less we emphasize which tribes we belong to, the better it will be for us as a nation. We are Ghanaians and thats what matters. If you want us to take you serious, dont come talking about your tribe, that means nothing. You cant unite us as a country if you cant simply accept that we have moved beyond I am Ga, Fante, Asante, Akyem, Ewe, etc. You are Ga, Fante, Asante, Akyem and so what?
