Suzanne D Topic : Hi , I recently started counselling for years of abuse and have been on four sessions so far and want to continue doing so to get better as I was recently diagnosed with Major depression. When I went to counselling yesterday I was asked by my counsellor what do I want from counselling,? and I said to stop nightmares and flashbacks and to talk about the things that happened to me , she replied Do you want to keep going back to the past tot he abuse or what do you want. The thing is I never got to tell her all of the things and now I feel if I continue to talk about it she doesnt want to hear or know ,but I thought when you go to counselling you speak about experiences that happened and to learn to deal with it, this is the third counsellor I have seen and I cant keep changing so any advise on this would be gratefully appreciated.
