Ok, my faith in humanity and gratefulness continue! I got up at 5:30 this morning with the plan of getting to the Parsippany social security office (a new one for me) to get in line by 8 am before they opened at 9. I had some more business I had to do for Josh. I left house at 6:50 for what should have been less than an hour ride. Well after getting lost 2 hours of rush hour traffic, a broken GPS, a Google iPhone app that keep telling me I was at my street (but not the number), many dozens of attempts to turn around (a near impossible feat in New Jersey!) and 100’s of interesting gestures from my fellow travelers (as I was apparently not going at the mandatory 25 miles per hour over the speed limit), I finally pulled into an Econo motel (the only thing left before getting on 287 heading home again) and went into the lobby to ask for assistance. The man behind the counter not only knew where the Social security office was (about 5 miles away and still another jug handle), but his fellow worker offered to lead me there with his car! Which he did! It took him 20 minutes and he wouldn’t take any money from me. OK, the fact that I was crying probably had something do with it, but still, what a good guy!!! Cancelled the 10,000 other jerks right out! I got into SS office to a LONG line but miraculously managed to get out of there by noon and got done what I needed to get done! Thank you God!
