Ok.. new school and new class tomorrow. So far its been a rocky ride. I walked into a classroom which has no desks, chairs, equipment and really needed a good paint job. I also had no books, pens or equipment of any kind. Although as one person pointed out to me, I did have a magnetic meter ruler so it wasnt all bad. All I had to do was plan my lessons for the day around the ruler. PE: Limbo dancing. Maths: Measure the distance from the school to Maccas in meters. English: Class oral story: The life of a ruler. Art: Sculpture using a ruler. Science: Levers... using children as the levers and fulcrum. History: olden day schooling with corporal punishment and using the ruler to keep your back straight. No worries! By some miracle most of my equipment arrived and we managed to find chairs and tables. My room is looking quite ok with some hard work and lots of cleaning. I have three beautiful two coloured bottles sitting on the window ledge. Paintings and prints on the walls and all is in order. Still waiting on some items and really need to chase up some A4 paper and connect the computer to the whiteboard but we just might pull the day off. I miss my Felixstow people already.
