Ok, now that I have a few hours of sleep… here we go The Great Horror Campout, the highlights: -Brett Meeting a Friendly Redneck who wanted him to be his little “Pooh Bear”, he kept on referring to him as his “Snuggle Bunny “ throughout the night. -Being covered in blood via hug from a man made of meat, within 15 minutes of showing up. -That vomit we had to put into condoms. -Our new friends Willitah, and Jason. (apparently Chas and I’s names are really Dave and Chad, who knew?) - Getting “Tongued”, by a group of serial killers. -Playing a game with some clowns that ended up with Chas being thrown in the trunk of a car. -Spending waaaay to much time trying to sneak through the labyrinth full of Chupacabras. -Making it to the final round of blood tag, but getting gunned down way too quick. -Getting abducted, bound, and hooded, then thrown into a van, but then being rewarded with candy for my experience. -Acting out scenes from famous horror movies in front of the entire camp, and getting doused in blood. (or in Brett’s case Hershey’s Chocolate Sauce. Brett deserves and award btw.) -Performing surgery on an electrified corpse. -And finally, our poor new friend Chrisopher, the 40ish year old middle school teacher, who got stuck with Brett, Chas and I all night, and is no doubt scarred for life. -Did I miss anything guys? The Great Horror Campout is one of the best events I’ve ever been to. It was creepy, surreal, and above all else, a whole lot of fun. I think your enjoyment is based upon your willingness to commit to the premise, and I think we did a pretty good job of committing to it fully. I know my comments seem kind of vague, but that speaks to the utter surrealness of it all. For anyone who is still curious, I’d be happy to elaborate further. I absolutely plan to go again next year, and I’d encourage you to do so, if you are looking for a unique experience, unlike anything else you’ve ever been through!
