Ok ok ... i have been looking at all the comments to Mickey letter for the past few days and as you guys know i dont like to comment on facebook ... However, i feel compelled to do so .... i am not in a position to comment on TV coverage .. but i believe i am in a position to do some commenting on Radio coverage ....... Zerith Mc Millian , Andre Donald Colin Dowe and others sat a few years ago and decided that there was a need for one voice coming from carnival shows , one that what would seek to promote the shows and not seek on the night of the shows to point out everything which was wrong with the different shows ...... As a result Andre Donald was given the responsibility to put together the different broadcasters for the nationals Carnival Shows .... Andre was responsible to Zerith for ensuring the shows was broadcast ed and the quality of and integrity of the broadcast was maintained at all times .......... other reasons for the one broadcast and sharing is the fact that broadcast entities did not all have what it took to do a broadcast which would make all Grenadians both home and abroad proud, also there was the understanding that other station in the Caribbean were interested in carrying our shows live and we need to provide a high quality of broadcast for them........... It was also realized that entities who were given the rights to do the broadcast were sending a astronomical list for passes for persons to enter the different shows free of cost ........... i remember there was one year an entity who submitted names of person who did not even work for the media house and who were on the night in question was doing nothing but enjoying the show....... there was one night an entity was heard saying get rid of the Carnival Committee the same committee which had given them the rights to broadcast the show................ not i am not saying that if you do wrong you should not be criticized ...but there is a time and place for everything........... So for the past years Andre Donald has been putting together a broadcast team for the various ...... to name a few Shirma Wells Lew Smith Godfrey Augustine Jester Noel Cecil Belfon and many others .... the broadcast was done as a national one and not a Real Fm one every Station even the GREAT GBN was given the broadcast free of cost..... and i dare say while we have been criticized for mistakes over the years for the most part the praises have been great and remember this was not for Real Fm but for the national broadcast............ To all who have made this a success story over the years i say thank you ....... Special mention ....... to Dexter Mitchell, Adrian Francis, Black Wizard Tillotee Hood and the many others who name would be too much for mention here..........The question you may ask was i contacted this years as in other years no i was not ........ i made contact and was told that GBN had the rights up to the semi-finals ....... well to me i am ok with that ... maybe it is the will of the master saying to me this carnival you need to focus on enjoying your self without all the stress ..... go to soca monarch Andre and have some fun...... Ms. Straker look before you leap and please do not engage your fingers before the mind is in gear.......... the question i want to ask you Linda is ....
