Ok peoples ... Just complained to IGA nation website ... Lets see how this works ... Complaint as follows: The local Batlow IGA has steadily increased prices, while steadily lowered their variety. Examples includes Coca-cola to 4.20 for 2lts, Red Rock Deli Chips completely disappearing off shelves (not sold out but removed) and as for these two I got the following excuses: we are unable to get a order as big as coles/woollies so thats why we have to charge more and RRD can no longer be brought from our suppliers, ok so I let those ones slide. Then today I want to IGA looking for snacks, I found out all varieties of Clinkers have been removed (apparently the suppliers no longer supply these like RRD), however I was in luck I found Black & Gold Choc Clangers where the only variety left, 200g for 3.85, ripoff much? To me it seems the owner has eliminated all other brands then literally doubled the price of the brand with the smallest packets and poorest quality. This is one of the many, many products and prices I can name. If these are to petty to be looked into, well then lets move on the smell coming from behind the store when you walk past (back of store joins onto a main street). Or the time I saw a mouse run through the store the owner told me that it was not likely and shrugged it off, well I must applaud minutes later there was a single mouse trap placed in the area I saw it (thats solving it). Or how about the time they had Crumpets on Market Day Special, they didnt sell so they were left there to sell, sure thats fine, but the problem here is they were left there for 2 months, I found them with a a spectacular condition, I really didnt know mold could make so many shades of blue and green. I told staff and the stock was removed. It should never of gotten to that point. A bit of good news, the regular staff are good and decent people. It is clear and obvious to me that the owner knows we are a small town (2k to 5k people) of mostly families, elderly, and jobless deadbeats and only few of us have access to the next supermarket (coles and woollies 35km away) so the owner is taking full 100% advantages of that. And before you think I am a whiny prick with nothing better to do with me time, its not just me, a fair percentage of the town has the same views including numerous staff members (keeping names anon to protect their jobs). This can not go on and soon I will be taking the issue and writing to local media. Presenting this to the owner may make her bar me from the store, which she has done to people in the past, well I say let her it will only validate my story and give me the sympathy vote when and if I take it to the press.
