Ok.....so......Christians MRI and CT scan revealed more....and his PET scan was read by a couple more docs as well. There are indicators that this could actually be melanoma. However, the jury is still out because the genetic testing hasnt come back yet. The CT scan revealed nodules on his lungs which we werent expecting to hear. Also, the tumor is growing( good news is- its slowed down a LOT) and the doctor said that the area/ window to remove this safely from Christian is very narrow. Its placement doesnt give them much to work with....its near some essential plumbing...and near some very essential blood vessels and nerves that will have to be dealt with....the other thing that is concerning is they will not be able to take out the surrounding centimeter to centimeter and a half of tissue surrounding the tumor. They always do this as a precaution in case anything is lurking....but with Christian, there simply isnt room. A lymph node biopsy has to be done along with this.....surgery for the tumor is going to be scheduled the week of April 14th. Between now and then, I have to meet with a urologist and oncologist...and a team of 4 surgeons have to be coordinated to take this tumor correctly. I have to admit, Im pretty scared here....and it tears my heart into a million pieces that my baby has to go through all of this. Im having a hard time typing. Please pray that this all goes smoothly and that this tumor isnt malignant and that I can stay strong for my little warrior.
