Ok so I am going to share a recent I am electronic illiterate moment with you all: A few days ago my phone fell from the bedside table to the floor.. then it would not come back on.. yep black screen of death.... So I called my carrier about getting a new phone.. they sent me to the insurance company who then sent me to warranty division who sent me back to my carrier and then on to the insurance... we are now 2 hours into this adventure and have involved a multitude of folks ( I think they were passing me person to person for a good laugh, the little dog pecker flies) anyhow we finally get someone who can decipher southern slang and can translate I need a new phone... we go through all of the questions and finally get me a claim for a new phone... the lady tells me to remove the battery read the info inside the cover, hey something I can follow yippppeee... we are crusin now... she has me remove a sim card and a sandisc.. yeah that was a interesting project.. we finally decided if it comes out of the back pull it out.. she tells me when my new [phone arrives to install these in it and all my stuff will come back in... she tells me dont lose them... tells me my claim is filed and will get my new phone overnited and will have it the next day... Too cool... After I hang up I am thinking ,,, I know I will lose these little cards and so I should put them back in and remove them when my new phone gets here... ( I have also plugged this puppy in to charge not sure why it doesnt work).. Anyways when I get the little card thingys put back in the phone lights up.. so I push the power button and low and behold the phone comes back on.. Now I have to call the Insurance company and my provider back.. after a couple of under their breath giggles they graciously stop the new phone from being sent and refund my deductible.. however they did leave the claim open in case I ever need to send that phone back because it doesnt work or gets stolen or just whatever. the reason... It is would be so much easier than me starting over and them spending valuable man hours trying to decipher and translate southern computer / electronic illiteracy into a claim for a new phone again... I am guessing I owe someone flowers.. :)
