Ok, so I forgot to share my excitement of the day today with you... I go out this morning to feed...do my typical routine of putting Dawby in the round pen to eat so the minis dont chase him out of his breakfast...next is Fargo...then I go to dump Hopes in the shelter...and what do I find???? The 4X4 post holding the shelter roof up in the front, BROKE IN HALF! Not only is it broke in half...but the crack is full of long black mane. Can a horse snap a 4X4 by scratching its neck you ask....well, the answer is hell yes! So Hope ate outside, and I closed up the shelter until we got the other farm of horses fed...then back home to spend time putting in new supports and realigning the shelter roof. I have to laugh everytime people ask me....are drafts really as destructive as Ive heard they are. Well...after having trees bent over to be used as belly scratchers...seeing them snapped clean off 4 foot up the trunks, watching hay rings with round bales inside them being scooted along the ground as butts are being scratched against them, seeing Fargo lift a half filled 150 gallon water trough scratching his back legs, complete doors or stall walls taken down like matchsticks...and then this. I would have to say, BE PREPARED FOR ANYTHING. :) Have a good evening all!
