Ok so I got a weird email from twitter, which I am registered on but never use, today saying one of the groups I followed was hash tagged in a post. The post also had another hash tag so I wanted to see what it was about. The group is called Moms Against Gaming. The point of this group apparently is a US/Canadian parent group wanting the ban of sale on violent video games. Alright so can someone please explain to me what the point of banning the sale of a game would be? If you say because violence in video games makes people kill people I will virtually smack you. Violence in video games doesnt make people violent. Poor parenting, mental disorders, and other things make people violent, not to mention human beings are naturally drawn to violence anyway, just take a look at the news what is the most dominate topic. Thats right violent acts. I have been playing video games for the better part of my life and I have never committed a violent crime. My parents took the time to tell me that it wasnt real and taught me right from wrong. If you dont want your children exposed to it be a parent and dont by it or let them buy it. Wow that was a simple fix. Games and movies are entertainment and if you cant teach your children the difference or know that something is wrong with your child that may cause them to imitate what they are seeing then you shouldnt be a parent and should not procreate anymore and give the ones you have up for adoption. If a child(minor under 18) goes out and commits a violent act and says they copied a game I think the parents should be charged for the crime because they obviously didnt see the signs of something going on which means they were crappy parents. So please explain to me why we should ban violent video games or movies, tv shows, and other entertainment items for that matter. Sorry for the rant but I hate when people try to blame things on anything but themselves.
