Ok so I have been in deep thought since Ive seen the movie twelve years a slave. To hear what people have to say about it is interesting. First thought 1. I know that God sends us through the storm for a purpose so what was the purpose of my ancestors suffering? 2. Why dont we take hold of the things that they denied us at that time? apparently our families were important because they split us up..keep the family strong. apparently our education would be our power...so why do we run from education. Get your freaking education no matter the cost. Invest in your self. Working was the epitome of our survival so why do we pretend as though we dont know the purpose and success that hard work has to offer? Think long and hard about these things. Let your kids see the movie and explain the importance. Dont just let this movie anger you because our pain is our strength. Dig deep and know that that strength that they resembled runs in our blood and make some impossible things happen with hard work. end of my rant...
