Ok so I went and seen my auvis inspector today and this is exact words he said to Me on the bullbar issue:- Rms legislation states that a vehicle (not just utes 4x4 anything) manufactured after 2003 must comply to ADR rulings. Bullbars (NOTICE:- not just 5post Bullbars) MUST:- Follow the contours of vehicle,no sharp or protruding edges and not forward facing (MUST be up and down not leaning forward applies to all bars) POST 2003:- 5 POST BULLBARS ARE ILLEGAL. Vehicles manufactured before 2003 these rulings dont apply to them PRE 2003 must be airbag compatible(if fitted with air bags) no sharp edges not forward facing PRE 2003:- 5 POST BULLBARS ARE ALLOWED lights MUST: not be rearward facing unless it is used as a work light which must be controlled only from outside of vehicle. Hunting lights and handles; hunting lights are illegal if not in use (remove it when traveling only have it fitted when using it) you can have the handle left connected only if is able to be folded up otherwise it must be removed. All these rules are that fresh off the press that the ink had not even dried they were put up on the AIS site this morning. If you are defected ONLY AUVIS inspectors are allowed to clear a bullbar defect AIS inspectors no longer allowed to clear a bullbar defect. Im getting hard copies as soon as I can. When I have it in my hand Ill make it available to everyone.
