Ok so Im listening to a church service and they have been - TopicsExpress

Ok so Im listening to a church service and they have been promoting on blessing their man and woman of God financially for the past two weeks. In addition, in their church they are encouraging the congregation to help reach a particular dollar amount as a goal. Now wait a minute. Let me clear the air. I totally agree the church based upon a biblical scripture, have every right to bless their pastors financially. I have no problem with that but when you when you encourage the congregation that you want to put a dollar amount on it, in my opinion, I strongly dont agree. Please keep in mind this pastor is not lacking. I have nothing against this pastor and his wife. I heard him preach live and I truly enjoy his teaching. This was not the idea of this pastor to do give him a financial blessing. My thing is what about the people in the congregation. Those who are in need. Who has visions, dreams, going through hard times, dont have no food, kids might need clothes, unemployed. Im not saying take care of those people but at least show some support in them. Who been with your ministry since day 1, traveled with you to churches, stayed faithful to you despite rumors, and members leaving. Some people dont need or want money but maybe have some mental issues and may not be able to afford mental or physical therapy. Do you see where I am coming from? Psalms82:3-4 3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. 4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. It is expected that church members wont say anything about this because if they do, they will be judged, talked bad about, sometimes publicly during church service etc. The point Im trying to get. I never EVER believe any church should put a dollar amount when it comes to being a blessing. This may sound like a double standard but I do believe it is necessary when there is a hardship in someones life or when you are trying to achieve a goal, vision or a dream that is desired. Even when there is a desire to bring the kingdom of God higher in a community. All giving should be given from the heart. Unless its a tithe, thats bible. I truly believe that whatever this pastor would be given to him financially whether it be a $1.00 or $30,000, he would humbly appreciate it.
