Ok so Saturday we went to the pound in Nicosia this is the pound we raised the £1000 for. On sat it broke my heart because it was raining and the dogs were soaked to the skin and literally covered in shit and mud, you can see them in the second video I will post. There are way too many dogs in this pound and in fact the pound is just 5/6 cages, the enclosed area and the dogs round the edges have been custom made to deal with all the dogs being dumped or taken off the streets! There is literally no where to put anymore dogs so this pound IF we dont get some out into foster/private kennel or adopted then they will have no option but to PTS , this is the sad reality of a Cyprus pound. I managed to get 3 poodles out 2 in a foster home, the other in private kennel, the old retriever thank god has been offered a forever home now, and the white English pointer has been offered a rescue space in the UK with experienced pointer rescue BUT we need to raise funds to get him there! There are some beautiful, great natured dogs in this pound and are being totally over looked, so many lab crosses! Seeing this pound is one of the reasons I did my new fundraiser doggies in need because its raising funds for kennel fees so the dogs are not in pounds like this in horrendous conditions, its raising funds for flights to get dogs over to the UK that would otherwise be in pounds like this, most importantly its raising money for the incredible individuals in Cyprus that work completely alone with very little help or financial support they take in dog after dog, have dogs dumped on them daily they are not part of a rescue but they open up there homes and spend there own money on feeding these dogs, vet care for the dogs! I want these individuals to be acknowledged, I want to give them some support even if its just a bag of dog food, the individual ladies really need some support right now so I ask you to take a Minuit think about what you are about to watch and think where these dogs would be without the amazing volunteers, without me highlighting the things you dont get to see, without me raising awareness, but most importantly where would they be WITHOUT YOU, the volunteers can only do so much, I can only do so much, you guys are the ones at the end of the day that can truly make a difference so pls consider a donation to my recent fundraiser. IDE like to personally thank a few individuals that work alone I seriously do not know how you do it..Pamela Vorka, Christina Ladommatou, Marylee Woof Adamou, Kayte Wilson-Smith, Avy Millard, I admire you all for your commitment and compassion you dedicate to saving there lives xxx
