Ok, so a little observation. The Boris bike scheme is an excellent innovation. Gets people moving and cheaply, less cars on the roads of London, less air pollution, the list of overwhelming pros goes on and on. However, why are the bikes themselves so f#%*ing s#%*?! Surely you could knock out an entry level road bike for similar money? Maybe an SPD compatible system on one side of the pedal? The gear system is an absolute joke shop! I had fat Lycra clad forty somethings overtaking me along Chelsea Embankment FFS! I simply couldnt crank any more power out of the hunk of s#%$! Still 22 mins from Covent Garden to Battersea Park as opposed to 1 Hr 07 mins on TfL planner taking in bus, tube, train and a walk. Battersea needs a tube station badly!! 🚲😡
