Ok so anytime I talk about my journey in grappling I always pay homage to my catch wrestling and wrestling. I also talk about how tough you had to be to come and train at our gym..... Or stupid. I guess I had a little of both. Anyways I looked on Facebook today and one of my old teammates Jon PS Strickland had posted this video from a tournament in 2001 in a thread . Around 8 minutes and 24 minute mark there is footage of me grappling and perfecting the kinks out of my current day pressure game. As you will see it wasnt quite perfected! Lol, but I also was competing with a torn ACL. I had torn it about two months before in another tournament. This tournament is also where the name cornbread came from. Enjoy and oh yeah some other highlights you will see is my teammate Chris Christopher A. Rogers tearing shins and knees and losing a battle with jeff monsoon in the absolute finals as well as my other teammate john driver breaking a guys leg off the shoot.
