Ok so back in 2009 i bought a pair of boots; this pair of boots cost me close to three hundred dollars. As i was swiping my card a heavy conviction fell over me. This was the first time i ever thought of others while i was shopping for myself. I thought about all the kids around the world that would probably never be able to buy these shoes in a lifetime, this thought made me want to return them. Instead i walked out of the mall & made this vow to God. Father I know i could have spent this money more wisely, but instead of making excuses i will just say this. I Joseph William Waters the first will never buy another article of clothing for myself unless you say so. Please do not allow me to look silly in the process. It has been five years sense i made this vow & i have only bought one blazer & two pairs of shoes. The rest is all God, he has really shown up. God is faithful if we will dare to be to him, heck even if we are not he still is. This sacrifice has made it easier to focus on the work God has created me to do & not be so immersed in vanity & material things. Breaking my shopping habit also freed up funds for things that really mattered & most importantly a better more healthy outlook on life. #Covenant
