Ok so here goes nothing!! Tuesday and Wednesday Brody had follow up scans from August just to kinda see where we stood. Now keep in mind all his blood work and clinic visits have been great. His CT scan showed no signs of tumor only the small residual from the originating spot of tumor and the nodule on the right adrenal gland was gone! The MIBG which is used to detect Neuroblastoma tumors anywhere in the body did show a spot of concern! The drs met in conference yesterday but the pediatric radiologist was unable to be present, so Dr. M meet with Dr. G today to discuss findings. After talking to Dr. M this morning she told me Dr. G (pediatric radiologist) states he does not feel this is a need of concern. He said there is a very faint uptake in the left adrenal gland. He also stated that in comparing the scans from yesterday with the scans from August he did not see any enlargements or changes in the left adrenal gland. He also said IF there was a cause for concern he wouldve seen it on the CT SCAN (which showed nothing). He was very pleased with the CT scan and also stated the MIBG is very sensitive. Dr. M said the uptake was so small they had to squint to even see it. They said this could possibly be the beginning stages of relapse but they were not going to stop treatment at this time and recommend we finish out these last three months of treatment and do new scans in January. She said IF this is relapse then they will know for sure in January. She advised me to watch for persistent high fevers, stomach aches, pains, not eating at all, and fatigue. They will monitor him weekly in the clinic and if anything changes we will find a new course of direction!! So for now we continue on, keep praying, keep believing, keep the faith and claim the miracle that Brody has already declared when he told me God took his tumor away and would never let it come back. Thank you for loving us, thank you for your thoughts, and mostly flooding heavens doors with prayers for my sweet Brody!! I know this little boy has touched more lives this past year alone. He is so strong and so brave and so full of spunk. He is the definition of a hero and he is my rock!! Even through the hard aches and sickness I always THANK GOD for choosing ME to be his mom!!
