Ok so lately I have been seeing a lot of negative comments about the als bucket challenge and how putting ice water over head is ridiculous. I will be honest at first I was skeptical but over the past few weeks I have learned so much from this challenge. People say that your just dumping water to get out of donating is this true for some people maybe but for most its not. Many people who have done the challenge also donated money but they also made more people aware of what als is and helped fund the cause just by nominating people. I knew what als was but did I know the extent of it no but through the challenge I have learned how much people suffer and how helpless their loved ones feel watching them. So this challenge has raised awareness and even has educated people more. Whether or not you go through with the challenge or not you still either donated something and also became aware of what als is. So saying that instead of doing the challenge lets raise awareness for the cause and just donate well guess what you just did exactly what this challenge is asking of you just minus the cold and wet part. Now as for other diseases and illnesses yes there are so many out there. Im glad that you donate to other causes but one day those causes will be in the spotlight or already have been. When that time comes everyone will be supportive of them as well. I believe every cause needs our help. I am a huge breast cancer advocate do to personal experiences but breast cancer amongst other cancers have months dedicated to them or are very much well known. Are some of them lacking in awareness? Yes! But instead of getting annoyed with this challenge and being negative why not use that time in the video to call out the charity you would like to donate to or make awareness to. Ok thats my rant. I did the challenge had fun, learned so much, and donated. I hope you all do the same whether it be or als or a cause of your choice. Now here is a video of how this all started.
