Ok so lets be positive - who would be prepared to sign a petition something along the lines of - off the top of my head? (1.)We the undersigned urge Darlington Council to vary its decision to implement parking regulations in Darlington town centre by painting single and double yellow lines throughout the Town Centre. We believe that these markings are damaging to the visual appeal and economic prosperity of the town centre. (2)We request the adoption of an alternative strategy that does not require road markings to be painted but instead uses landscape design - paviors and granite setts - to denote where short term parking is permitted. (3)There are many evamples of alternatives that we propose. These do not use painted lines. (4)This alternative strategy would be in keeping with the historic character of a town centre and would benefit both Residents and Traders. Signed etc. I mean it could be amended to be slightly less wordy?
